About Us

Greetings!

I am Choung Yong-suk, the CEO of the National Museum Foundation of Korea.

The National Museum Foundation of Korea is a public institution established under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in accordance with the 'Museum and Art Gallery Promotion Act', with the aim of 'expanding the future cultural value of museums'.

The Foundation is actively involved in various initiatives that utilize the cultural heritage of the National Museums.

First, we produce and sell museum products called ‘MU:DS’, allowing visitors to not only admire artifacts but also to 'collect' them as commercialized items, thus gaining a deeper understanding of the value of our cultural heritage.

In addition, the Foundation operates the ‘Theater Yong’, a venue specialized in children's and family performances, at the National Museum of Korea, offering a seasonal repertoire and various events to delight audiences. We also conduct the 'National Museum Concert', which aims to reduce cultural imbalances and has been well received by local residents. Furthermore, through the organization of special exhibitions at the National Museum of Korea, we strive to offer visitors a rich array of experiences, while providing more comfortable and convenient spaces for rest through amenities such as food and beverage services.

This year marks the 20th anniversary of the Foundation. As an institution leading the brand value of the National Museums, we are preparing a mid-to-long-term development plan, aiming for new growth. In a rapidly changing world, we will continue to strive to evolve and move forward, never resting on our past achievements, but always staying close to our audience, seeking new ways to improve and develop.

Thank you.

Choung Yong-suk
